Short and sweet, up and down, salt and vinegar, back and forth, please and thankyou.

I've noticed a disturbing trend lately.

Having spent a few days in the city lately, I've been taking note of cool outfits on other people for inspiration, and I've noticed something horrible.

Leggings as trousers.

The trend appears to be centred as part of the "uni chic" style - messy bleached hair, ballet flats. Usually this style features tracksuit pants and a baggy hoody, or a spaghetti strap top in the hot weather, but now it appears to have mutated into a long-ish t-shirt or, more commonly, a long shirt, with or without a belt, and leggings.

Or even worse, jeggings. (Leggings designed to look like skin-tight jeans.)

Newsflash ladies: NO ONE WANTS TO SEE YOUR BUTT... OR EVEN WORSE, YOUR CAMEL TOE.

Please stop this right away. Just wear a skirt or jeans, how tricky is that? Did you forget to put your skirt on this morning? I hate you.

Sorry for not blogging yesterday, I was with Matthew all day and didn't find the time. He's at work now and I'm just hanging out waiting for him to get back.

I went to the dentist this morning - so I probably need a root canal, and they're gonna take off my veneers and get rid of the tooth and give me nice shiny new crowns. Hmph. Would rather not thanks. £200 I don't have. Hopefully Mum will cover it. On the plus side, perhaps the crowns will look better than what I have now. And it'll be a relief to be able to eat on the right side without PAIN.

I'm loving Reuben's compilation, which arrived yesterday :D It's beautiful. I love the vinyl, it's signed and makes me happy. I'm seriously considering getting it framed. Well worth the £25, for sure.

I'm planning on applying for a driving licence very soon. I need real ID. :(

I don't really have anything else to say today :s booooring. tata.

Sunday

Sundays are pretty boring, there's never anything on TV during the day, so I've spent the afternoon (morning was sleep time) browsing SA and Facebook. Now I'm watching Friends and waiting for my tea. Epic, huh?

CSI Sunday tonight; five back-to-back episodes, though I've seen one. Sweeeeeet.

Matthew'll hopefully be here later on, depending on his train and stuff. He should be getting into Norwich any time now but he's going home first to get some stuff, since he's staying here most of next week probably.

I might have to work tomorrow but hopefully not. Matthew has a day off so I'm hoping to spend it with him, go into the city and stuff, will be fun as long as I don't get called in. Fingers crossed! Probably jinxed it now...

I have nothing much to say, just wanted to fill my requisite blog quota for today.

Oh, and no Reuben compilation but Joe has his so hopefully mine'll arrive tomorrow. And I need proof of ID for my phone contract but they want a license or a passport and I have neither. Bummer. Waiting to hear back.

Tata.

Man, I was so excited to log on and see I had a follower. Seriously. Hey Sarah!

So today has been average. I slept a lot, hung out with my brothers a bit, read the Daily Mail (worthless piece of crap), watched a lot of rubbish TV. X-Factor was a highlight. It's worse than ever. With the time they spend showing crowd shots they could've fit another ten auditions in there.

I'm watching CSI currently - only one episode on tonight, how lame. It is Las Vegas which is my favourite, so bonus. Everyone who's spoken to me lately knows by now that I'm on a huge CSI kick, so sorry if I bore you with it. I have no one to discuss it with; Matthew only watches it reluctantly when he's here and I insist.

Speaking of the boy, he's currently in London watching NFG, so I don't get to see him til tomorrow; I hope he's having a good time, but I'm certain he is. What is it, his ninth time seeing that band? And you think I'm obsessive about Reuben. Hehe. I miss Matt a lot though it's nice to have a bit of alone time and also I like being able to spread out and hog the duvet. Lovely.

I went to buy phone credit today and popped into the charity shop; came out with a pristine (!) copy of the Fellowship of the Ring, lovely, and a half-read (you can tell by how much the spine has broken, this one's broken up to around halfway through) copy of the Da Vinci Code - awful book, relying on cliffhangers to keep the audience interested, but after reading Angels and Demons lately I've wanted to re-read the sequel to see if it could possibly be worse. The guy behind the counter was loving it though, we had a nice chat - it's lovely when shop workers aren't zombies.

Now my new contract phone is on order - I'm a little nervous but it's purple and quite lovely :) so hopefully that'll all work out and I won't break it three months in or anything silly like that.

Back to Grissom and Nick. Tata.

Music is amazing.

I'm currently reacquainting myself with old favourites such as Fall Out Boy, From First to Last and Billy Talent, reminding myself of old times.

There's seriously nothing like listening to a song for the first time in ages and getting a rush of memory.

Fall Out Boy reminds me of the hours spent on MSN discussing the merits of each song and debating the video for Saturday with Joe; at one point he called me while I was at dinner with my grandparents just to tell me he'd spotted a vital clue in said video. Even years later Saturday is my favourite music video of all time.

Above all From First to Last remind me of high school and the time I spent on INO with amazing people like Erin, Amber, Nat, Chrissy, Leena, Sarah, Sock, the aforementioned Joe, Sam... I'm still in sporadic contact with some of these "internet friends"; I talk to Joe on Steam all the time and I have Sarah and Sam on facebook. Joe is the only one of these people I've met. Does that mean they're not real friends? I guess. They aren't my real life friends. I don't hang out with them. I rarely talk to many of them. But they're still my friends. Certainly in a class of their own in my mind, not in the same category as friends I can hang out with - but I still feel I know them.

Billy Talent have been a favourite for ages even if I rarely listen to them now; they remind me, oddly, of Ami and hanging out with kids younger than me while I was in sixth form. I saw them live with Ami and Nicola. That was three years ago now and still one of the best days ever.

I don't know if I want to listen to MCR, but I'm sure it's a natural graduation and I'll be reminded again of that MCR fansite I spent about a year on, from the moment it opened until our little group disbanded and everyone moved on.

Hey, I miss you guys. If you're reading, say hi.

Meanwhile I spend a lot of time these days listening to Lady Gaga, Emmy the Great and REM. Life goes on.

Daytime TV

Yesterday I moaned that it was too hot, and now it's cold and tipping it down. Can't it be cold but sunny? That'd be nice. At least I'm not sweating in t-shirt and shorts; wearing jeans and my feet are chilly :)

I'm having a day in once again having turned down the offer to work for three hours... what's the point? All the kids will be asleep and they'll have me cleaning the toilets.

I'm enjoying a bit of Jeremy Kyle... can't beat it. Thinking about busting out my new CSI DVD but not really feeling it right now. I have two episodes on Five USA to watch tonight and only the BB eviction to disrupt them - I'll be switching over at 10:35 just to see who gets kicked out but we all know it's going to be Bea. Then again I said that last week with "we all know it's gonna be Marcus" but look what happened there. To be honest I think I've watched one episode this week. It's just not fun without Freddie.

Just saw an ad for the new X-factor series which has got me looking forward to it. That'll be fun; I like the audition process, though usually I don't watch it after the first few weeks unless there's someone I really like.

Back to the rest of today - it's nice to just be able to chill but I miss Matthew; he's off to London tomorrow to see New Found Glory which I'm sure he will love. He's awesome enough to not complain when I insist on watching three or four episodes of CSI in a row, though he does usually use that time for Warcraft or Monster Hunter :) We all have our vices I guess and CSI is definitely mine at the moment. I just can't resist overstylised crime drama. Right now it's the only show I can't bear to miss; Casualty is another but obviously that's not on at the moment.

Quick congratulatory shout out for all the a-level results, even if you didn't get what you want you still deserve applause :) I remember my a-levels were pretty stressful though I still miss NDHS. I mean, nothing can beat two hours of Classics with Mr Everett. Many things can beat Dylan Thomas as read by Mr Mills, but I still miss it for some reason. I wonder if I'll ever go back there. When I do it'll all have changed - I mean it's already changed; Mr Mills is gone, Mr Snell has moved to Diss or somewhere, and the kids who are still there that I used to hang out with have forgotten I existed, allegiances have changed and switched and even if I did go back I wouldn't fit in. I should look forward not back, think of my uni friends and the friends I still have from the last few years, but the past was a lot of fun.

I recently took my tunnels out - my ears had reached a record high of 8mm, and I was a little bored and sick of worrying about them smelling bad. And they made it tricky to lie on Matthew sometimes since the metal one would dig itself into the skin behind my ear, ouchie. Now I feel a little empty and in need of something new; may treat myself to a new piercing when I get paid. Something fun in my ear since I'm not allowed anything else while I live at home. Still thinking about my next tattoo; I know I quite want a pair of nautical swallows, but where? I'm thinking one on each side, above where my Reuben birds are, so next to my boobs basically. Would mean no bra for a few weeks but that's not exactly a big deal given that fat boys have bigger tits than me.

This was a nice long ramble and I may write again later; it might replace my regular FB updates and tweets (www.twitter.com/jayalay).

I enjoy blogging.

That's right, I like writing about my everyday mundanities, and I don't even know if that's spelled right, which is a first for me. It looks right.

I've made some forays into the blogosphere before; one lasted a year or so and is public and still around... oh go on then: http://freixra.livejournal.com/ Okay? Please make note of the dates. I was very young. Now that's out of the way, this can be my serious writing tool for keeping my friends informed of my activities. Hooray!

I'd like to make this MY VERY OWN and customise it some more, but I'm not entirely sure how. I'm internet savvy but obviously not very blog-savvy. Pretty in pink will do for now I think.

Here's something I'm sure we can agree on: it's too hot. I'm sitting in my very skimpy jammies and I'm too hot. Maybe something to do with the roasting laptop on my legs, but we'll ignore that. Nighttimes are a pain especially when Matthew is here; we alternate between me half-under the duvet and him letting me have it, and him stealing ALL the covers at 4am when he wakes up and is cold. Weirdo. He is a human radiator, which is great in winter but in summer, not so much.

Anyway this blog thingamajig is distracting me from my beloved CSI, and I'm afraid I'd rather look at Danny Messer's face (although he is most certainly no Nick Stokes) than this text box, so tata for now.
